Created by Ronvé O’Daniel, the LAB Workshop is a five-class acting, creative songwriting and performance intensive, focused on preparing and cultivating skills of young aspiring writers, actors and performers. In a time where performers are required to have multiple skill sets, The LAB is the breeding ground to develop these skills.

MUSICAL THEATRE LYRIC WRITING
Students will learn the basics of musical theatre songwriting and apply it to their own creative writing and performance. Students will learn about song structure, melody, rhyme and other necessary tools to guide their process.
RAPPING & HIP-HOP LYRIC WRITING
Introductory course where students learn the basics of Hip-Hop songwriting, and apply it to their own creative writing and performance. Participants will explore poetry, rhyming, history and basic song structure.
hip-hop PERFORMANCE theatre
Performance-oriented course where students learn not only the basics of how to rap, but also how to bridge the gap between theatre and hip-hop performance. Students will explore voice, freestyle, breath control, intention/emotion and speed.
MUSICAL THEATRE AND HIP-HOP COACHING
Students will perform dramatic monologues or songs ranging from (but not limited to) original pieces, hip-hop, classical theatre, classical musical theatre, pop, rock and acoustic music. Participants will receive feedback focusing on the aspects of physicality, breathing, and storytelling dynamics.
basic lyric, poetry and songwriting
Students will exercise their creative writing skills, not limited to songwriting but focused on lyrics, content and technique. Students will study rhyme scheme, scansion, and poetic devices.
LIVE Q&A WORKSHOP
The Live Q&A Workshop is an opportunity for students to hear about Ronvé's personal and professional life experiences. Students will gain insight into the struggles and successes of Ronvé's journey into the world of hip-hop and theatre. Ronvé's story touches on themes of diversity, masculinity, and professionalism, among other things.
Ronvé shares his real world experiences with the students in a manner that is relatable and motivational. The Live Q&A Workshop is an interactive program allowing the students to engage directly with Ronvé by asking questions and sharing comments that they may have. Each program ends with a live performance from Ronvé!
